Your new puppy has the capability to learn from 7 weeks of age, although his attention span is very short at this point. During the first 5 months, a puppy needs many positive experiences to promote a confident, friendly personality. Socialization is very important so that your pup learns to show no fear of situations, people, and dogs he encounters. When your puppy has had two sets of vaccinations andthere is no fear of a communicable disease, he should attend puppy class where the whole family can learn how to work with him in a positive manner so that he develops into a happy, well-adjusted canine friend. Over a period of 6 weeks, your puppy will learn to watch, sit, down, come when called, socialize with other dogs, and have fun!
