Canine Good Neighbour
The Canine Good Neighbour is a certification program that tests dogs in simulated everyday situations in a relaxed atmosphere. It identifies and rewards dogs that have the training and demeanor to be a reliable family friend as well as a community member in good standing. The purpose of the Canine Good Neighbour is to ensure that our favourite companion, the dog, can be a respected member of the community because it is trained and conditioned to act mannerly in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs and people.
My training course prepares both the dog and owner to perform the twelve exercises necessary to pass the CKC Canine Good Neighbour Test. These exercises simulate everyday situations, including accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, appearance and grooming, walking on leash, walking through a crowd and a gate, sit and down stays, coming when called, reacting to another dog, reacting to strangers, and supervised separation and calming. Successfully passing the exam portion of the course results in a certificate issued by the Canadian Kennel Club.
The cost is $175.00, plus GST. Next Class Spring 2014
Next Test June 7, 2014
